The Vietnam War
The Vietnam War lasted a long twenty-five years. The United States joined the war in an attempt to help contain communism. After Kennedy died and Lyndon B. Johnson became president, Vietnam wasn't talked about as much because he was more concerned with Great Society and progressive social programs. However, in 1963, Johnson decided to expand the war despite Kennedy's plans to remove a thousand troops.

Through time, things like the Tet Offensive and Vietnamization became outcomes of the war along with many other things that society is well aware of.

Finally, after the 172 elections and Paris Peace Accords, more people began to oppose this well-lasted war. As a result, troops were slowly able to withdraw from way and return to their family. However, the troops were not greeted kindly upon arrival because America felt betrayed that we were unable to win this war and contain communism.
